I’m a homeschool mama to my four kids. Years ago I taught in the public school system. I’m the daughter of a teacher. Education is a big deal in our home and I’ve got a soft spot for teachers of all kinds. I’ve collected 102 inspirational quotes for teachers that are all free and printable and totally pretty. Use them in your home or classroom or any corner that needs brightening!
Quotes about learning…
These nine pretty watercolor quotes about learning will inspire you to think about teaching and learning outside the traditional textbook model. The best learning is real world learning. It’s messy, hard to quantify and often gets skipped over to make room for boxes that need checked.

Quotes about education….
These chalkboard quotes about education are an old school reminder of why us teachers do what we do. It’s not about lesson plans, or objectives, or any of that red tape. Teaching kids is all about the kids. No matter your official “occupation” those with a heart for teaching and kids know that the real goal is raising good, kind human beings that can think for themselves.

Growth Mindset quotes…
The growth mindset concept has a real place in my heart both as a parent and a teacher. If you haven’t heard of it the growth mindset is a way of thinking that normalizes failure as part of the learning process. It’s a perspective that puts a whole new spin or trying new, hard things and working toward goals. This mindset really speaks to my perfectionist self.
Some of my most popular posts ever are about the growth mindset. You can find links to all the growth mindset resources here. There are mini books, coloring pages, lunchbox notes, and so much more- all free! These twelve inspirational quotes for teachers can be found here!
Quotes for teachers about grit…
The idea of raising kids with grit goes right along with the growth mindset concept. Trying new things, working hard for big goals, and understanding that small steps add up to big results are things we all want to pass along to our little people. This post about raising gritty kids comes with nine printable quotes and a book list for both kids and adults about how to cultivate this kind of grit!
Quotes to about the importance of play….
While play is the opposite of the hard work mentioned above it’s role in children’s lives is just as important. Play often takes a back seat to structured school days and activities like sports or music lessons. While these activities are worthwhile and even beneficial they don’t take the place of play. Kids are masters of getting lost in wonder, playing and pretending. We could all use a little more of that!
These quotes about the value of play will help you remember that those moments of being lost in play are totally valuable for your kiddos.
Quotes for teachers about mindfulness…
So, in an effort to be transparent I’m going to admit- these quotes were for me. I needed a reminder to slow down and be present in the moment right in front of me. But I think the idea of being present is just as timely of a reminder for us as parents and teachers as it is for our young people. In this day of unlimited distractions, many that we carry around in our pockets, we can all use a little reminder to pay attention to now.
If you’d like to read more about what being present means to me and grab these inspirational quotes you’ll want to check out this post!
Quotes about being grateful…
Gratefulness is one of the most important things I want to instill in my kids. That’s not to say that I walk around everyday filled with awe at my own luck. But, honestly, what a wonderful world it would be if I did. Gratitude changes everything. In the midst of hard stuff I think it can life changing for a kid to have a different perspective.
I know I talk about this with my own kids till I’m blue in the face. Hopefully one day it will sink in! If you’re trying to instill a mindset of gratitude I know you’ll want to check out this post!
Embrace the weird…
Kids are weird. Let me rephrase that…people are weird and that’s a good thing. Growing up it can be hard to see being different as a positive. Often times kids want nothing more than to be exactly like the person sitting next to them. How, horribly boring is that?
I want to inspire my kids to be the weird kid. Try new things, exactly the things they like, even if no one is else is doing them. Take a chance. Try something new. These quotes about uniqueness might be some of my favorite on this list of inspirational quotes for teachers because if a kid can learn to be okay with themselves they can do anything!
Quotes about creativity….
I’m an art teacher so the following three sets of inspirational quotes have a special place in my heart. Whether you teach art or algebra learning to think in a creative way is a benefit. These quotes about creativity come from artists, scientists, writer and more; showing that creativity takes all kinds of forms!

Quotes from famous artists…
I really believe that learning to think like an artist can be a benefit to any kid. That doesn’t mean every child will grow up to be an artist, I totally get that. But thinking like an artist means thinking outside the box, seeing new answers to old questions, and trying things new ways! Who would say no to that?
Whether your young person has artistic talent or not isn’t the point of the arts. Exploring new things and new perspectives totally is. See more about this printable quotes from famous artists here- there are 12 all together!
Quotes to inspire a love of the arts…
So… this set of inspiring quotes is especially for my fellow art lovers. Art can play so many roles in a child’s life. It’s our privilege as teachers and parents to point out that activities that can seem so simple can really be an outlet for self expression and hands on learning that they can enjoy their entire lives.
