Candy Crafts with Peppermint Candies

Bowls, Platters, and Ornaments to Make with Peppermint Candy

So, I have to be honest here.  I have seen ornament made out of peppermint candy here and there on the world wide web.  Easy.  Simple.  Not really, as it turns out.  Because, cracking.  We had a lot of cracking, some serious stickiness, and maybe a few tears.  But, trial and error led us to some really pretty pieces that my kids are excited to give as gifts this Christmas.  So to save you all some peppermints and tears I will share our tricks!

To start this project off there is lots of eating, and unwrapping, and more eating.  I always thought of peppermints as a bit of a punishment but it turns out my kids love them. We unwrapped, ate, and looked forward to this super simple craft.  (One that wasn’t even supposed to be blog worthy because there is nothing to it. )
