Illustrate a Christmas backdrop….

Each download includes one page of illustrations and a pop card structure. Cut this out and encourage kids to create their own card background. Include words, additional illustrations, or even abstract patterns.

When done fold the card in half, with the decorated portions facing out. Cut from the folded edge toward the center of the card on the interior black lines. Leave the strips connected.

Unfold the card template, popping out the tabs in the center. When the pop up template is folded in half those tabs will fold in.

Apply a dab of glue to each tab, attaching an illustration to each tab. Be sure no extra glue goes onto the body of the card or it may get glued shut.

Choose from trees, candy canes, Santa, elf, and more when making this pop up card for Christmas!

Assembling your printable Christmas card….

The portion of the printable Christmas card that has already been assembled is actually the “inner” layer. The printable portion of this card is sized just right to fit inside an additional layer that is half of a standard sheet of paper.

Cut a standard 8.5 x 11 piece of card stock or paper in half. Fold the paper in half.

Apply glue to the back of the decorated portion of the card, making sure no glue touches the pop up tabs.

Sandwich the inner layer inside the larger piece of cut card stock, lining up the folds. Enourage kids to decorate the exterior of their Christmas card as well! This is a great place to use up some of those extra printed illustrations or practice some special lettering techniques!
