printable Easter egg holders

These six Easter egg holders print in black and white and are ready for your kiddos to add their own color!

Printable Easter egg holders…

What’s an Easter egg holder?  Growing up I called these Easter egg skirts. (I think I may be the only person ever to use use that term!)  I have memories of popping similar egg holders out of the cardboard box that our egg coloring tablets came in and propping up the best of my recently colored eggs!

Five different Easter egg holder designs include Spring grass, chicks, flowers, patterned eggs, and Peeps. I also included a totally blank egg holder template to allow room for your kid’s own designs to take shape!

These Easter egg holders will work best when printed on card stock.  Heavier paper will allow them to support the weight of that egg they’re meant to display.

Add your own color…

Markers or crayons are an easy choice for adding some bright color to these Easter egg holders.  Really, any medium that makes your kid happy will work on this easy Easter craft! Consider tissue paper painting or painting with markers to add a bit more of a creative exploration to this activity!

I suggest printing these out, adding whatever type of color you choose, and then cutting them out. Coloring back and forth over a cut edge can be frustrating.  By waiting to cut it out your little artists can color right up to that edge!

Make the egg holder…

After your Easter egg holders have been colored and cut out it’s time to pop them together so they’ll stand up and hold those special Easter eggs!  Of course glue will work but a piece of transparent tape is instant gratification.

Add a piece of tape to the back of the paper tab.  Loop the Easter egg holder into a circle and attach tape on the inside of the egg holder.  That way no adhesive shows on the outside of the Easter egg holder!
