Print a free printable Father’s Day card for Dad or any other special guy- they’ll love this printable pop up card!

Materials to make your own pop card for Father’s Day…..

The supply list for this Father’s Day raft are pretty slim. Here’s all you’ll need…

  • the printable template- see below
  • markers or crayons
  • card stock, white for interior of card and colored for the exterior
  • scissors
  • glue stick

Add color to your DIY Father’s Day card…

This printable Father’s Day card prints in black and white so your young person can add their own color. I suggest printing on card stock if you have any available. It will make for a sturdier card.

Before you cut anything add color. Coloring first will help your students avoid the frustration of coloring off and on cut edges!

Cutting out your Father’s Day card printable…

Cut out all of the pieces of your pop up card. Set aside the front panel and the individual block letter cubes- you’ll need them in a bit!

Fold the inside of the card in half. Make sure the lines are on the outside so you can see as you cut!

Cut from the fold forward on each side. When you get to the line that is perpendicular to the line you’re cutting stop. Do not cut on the perpendicular line. When you’re done you will have made 6 or 8 parallel cuts, depending on which card you’re making.

Preparing the outside of your Father’s Day card….

The printable Father’s Day card template needs a base to which it will be attached. A half sheet of 8.5 x 11 card stock is the perfect size for this printable template.

I love the colors in this Astrobright card stock or you could even up-cycle old artwork.

Assembling your printable Father’s Day card…

Gather all your pieces including your larger cut out card stock, letters, and glue.

Fold the inside piece of the card template while “popping out” the tabs that create the pop up portion of these cards.

Apply a glue stick to the back of this inside section taking care to keep all glue off of the pop out tabs. Glue this part of the template inside the colored card stock exterior.

Put glue on the bottom half of each of the pop out tabs and adhere one of the block letter squares. Fold the card in half and apply a bit of pressure to be sure everything is stuck

The front of the card can be glued on now a well.
