What is Hanukkah?

Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday that celebrates miracles that occurred more than 2,000 years ago. The holiday lasts 8 days. The days do not always fall on the same calendar days but the holiday generally begins late November through mid December.

Let me be the first to say I am not on expert on the meaning of Hanukkah. I encourage you to learn more about this beautiful holiday with books like those listed below. Whether you have traditionally celebrated Hanukkah or not I know you’ll enjoy learning about the food, fun, music, and other traditions of the holiday!

What do you need to make this pop up Hanukkah card….

This pop up Hanukkah card starts with a simple supply list!

Print the Hanukkah card template on card stock if available. If not we’ve also used standard copy weight paper with success. You’ll need an additional sheet of plain or colored card stock or paper for the outside of the card.

You’ll need scissors, a glue stick, and a colorful medium such as crayons or markers to add color to your printed card!

Hanukkah printable pop p card comes ready to print in black and white on two pages.

Designing you Hanukkah card…

Each pop up card template features room for three illustrations. Choose the ones you love from my printable sheet or make your own!

Add color to those using crayons or markers. You might want to color an extra or two for the front of your card.

Add color, words, or anything you would like to the template for the body of the card. Cut out both the illustrations and the body of the card after color has been added.

Print color and assemble your own Hanukkah printable pop up card!

Assembling you Hanukkah printable pop up card….

Fold the inner lining of the pop up card in half, right sides out. This way you can see the printed lines for the portions of the card that “pop.”

Cut the parallel lines on all three pop up tabs, leaving them attached to the card.

Fold the card body so that the right sides are now touching each other. Carefully bend each set of pop up tabs so that they fold the opposite direction as the rest of the card.

Apply glue to only the “tab” and attach an illustration to each one.

Fold the card body in half. The illustrations should fold away into the card. Apply glue to the back side of card body, excluding any portion of the pop up tabs.

Sandwich this inner lining into a second piece of card stock. An 8.5 x 11 piece of card stock will fit this template perfectly.
