Materials for making your own envelopes….

These templates for envelopes are designed to print on standard 8.5 x 11 copy paper. Lightweight paper like this is easy to fold.

Choose to print on colored paper or print on white paper and embellish with the media of your choice- markers, crayons, etc.

You’ll also need scissors and a glue stick. That’s all!

This printable envelope template creates a gorgeous pinwheel shaped DIY envelope.

The pinwheel envelope template….

The envelope above creates a small pinwheel like envelope that starts from a single pieces of paper. Start with the printed envelope template. Add color, and then use scissors to cut out.

Fold envelop flaps inward. After creasing all four sides fold one side in, and then fold the next one in, overlapping the first. Do the same with the last flap tucking that last edge under the first, creating the “pinwheel” look.

Make your own envelope from a heart with this easy printable envelope template.

The heart envelope template….

This heart envelop template is so sweet because it can be both the envelope and the card! As the handmade envelope unfolds the original heart can be seen!

Add color or any drawing or writing to the card before cutting it out.

Fold the sides if the heart inward on the two vertical lines. Flip the heart so that the rounded edges are down. Fold up on the horizontal line to create the pocket of the envelope. Fold the top flap down to complete the envelope.

Make a DIY envelope with this traditional envelope template.

The traditional envelope template….

This traditional style envelop is super easy to make. Print the envelope template. Color or draw on any or all parts of the template, except for the dotted areas, those will be cut away. Cut out the envelope, including the dotted parts.

Fold the smaller side flaps in. Fold the bottom part up. This should overlap the small side flaps already folded. Use a dot of glue stick to adhere the side flaps and the bottom flap. This has created the pocket of the envelope. Fold the top flap of the envelope down to some complete the DIY envelope.
