A NOTE TO MY TEACHER FRIENDS

This is a special edition of my Growing a Growth Mindset course.

This edition is meant just for you teachers that are planning distance learning lessons and/or sub lessons during this wild time.

My instructional video lessons and PDF’s are FULLY DOWNLOADABLE.  That means after purchase you can download these videos  and share them with your students without them enrolling in the course.

These lessons are easy to follow, require minimal supplies, and provide a quality art experience that your kiddos can do at home!

I want to share these videos with you so you can share them with your own students! We all need a little extra art in this time of uncertainty.

have a perfectionist kid....

Have you heard of the “growth mindset” concept? It says that people, with practice, can do most anything they put their minds to.

A growth mindset isn’t an easy, breezy “you can do it” kind of pep talk or a simple worksheet you can refer to. Rather, it’s a way of thinking that helps kids realize they CAN do hard things but only by being brave and putting themselves out there.  A growth mindset normalizes failure as part of the learning process. Doing big things can be hard and scary but is so worth it.

During this time of uncertainty a growth mindset is a valuable tool in a child’s mental health toolbox. The visual arts is the perfect way to explore and encourage a growth mindset in your students!

These creative projects focus on these four things...

The focus is self expression...

These four video lessons focus on using the creative arts as an avenue to self expression and understanding.  These growth mindset art lessons are all about exploring our brains, our hearts, and our dreams.  There is no one right answer in art- it’s the perfect place to explore taking risks!

Simple art materials– I’m talking washable markers, a black permanent marker, paper, and scissors are all you need for this entire unit.

These lessons aren’t about mastering techniques.  These creative experiences are the perfect first step in using the visual arts as a form of self expression.

Four complete video lessons....

These four feature lessons include full step by step video tutorials.

Because these lessons are open ended and use super basic materials these lessons are perfect for your distance learning students.

These lessons will also make great substitute plans for that day when we’re all back in the classroom!

Four printable lesson packs

Each feature projects comes with a downloadable project pack in PDF form.

That means whether you choose to take advantage of the video lessons or not- you can still follow my step by step instructions and pictures to recreate these lessons on your own!

The printable lesson packs may also be shared with students!
